Mr Softee..Still out there truckin'? Tue, 02/12/08 12:42 AM (permalink)
Loved those visits as a kid from the Mr. Softee truck. It used to be a staple of the North Jersey scene back in the 60's. haven't heard of them in years. Has anyone seem a sighting, or has another creature gone extinct?

There are still a load of them in the spring/summer/fall on the streets of New York City.

I see a truck every so often ... and maybe it is just the ones I've been seeing, they all look pretty ratty to me.

Is Good Humor still around -- with trucks?

Prior to a move last year, Mr. Softee came by my suburban NY home almost every summer day. We moved to a nicer house, but I'd go back in a heartbeat as Mr. Softee doesn't pass by this area.

Man, I sure do miss Mr. Softee!!! I swear, if I ever see another Mr. Softee truck comin' down the street I'm gonna order a half pound of vanilla sundae with 3 ounces of vanilla syrup and an ounce of chocolate sprinkles! (my favorite!)...maybe an extra 6 ounces of pistachio, if they have it that day!

Good Humor is still sold in trucks...but not the companies own trucks--not those familiar trucks of the 40's,50's,or 60's.
