I have never been there but I recall, from one of the flyfishing bb's I frequent, a place in Toledo called Nick's. The Nickburger had 9 slices of bacon on it and was so large that the non-optional fries had to be served on a second plate.

In San Antonio, the late Little Hipp's restaurant had a huge bigger I understand, and anothe rplace, called The Lord's Kitchen also has a really big burger, but am not sure if The Lord's Kitchen has a website. It is associated with I think one of the local churches.
Now the folks that used to work at Little Hipp's bought the building it was in and started their own place, but I can't recall what the new name is.

Take your pick. The first one weighs 123 pounds! I think the whole concept is disgusting. pb

Just to be fair though porkbeaks, you should mention that the first picture you have posted is from Denny's Beer Barrel Pub and was created for a charity event. I have no clue what that other abomination is, although I don't think I'd call it a burger.

I wonder why the menu jumps from 4 oz. burgers up to 1 lb. burgers, PB? No 1/2 or 3/4 burgers? Hmmmm.

"Regular/normal" burgers are on the menu. Quite a few, in fact. I just posted the section that listed the "Specialty Burgers". pb

Seabrrook Tavern in Topeka, Kansas has a 3 pouund burger that comes with a huge serving of great French fries and it is free if one person eats both in 45 minutes. I think only a couple of people have done it.

They also have 1/4, 1/2, and 1 pound sizes. They bake their own buns daily.

To my knowledge, only one person has ever been able to conquer the 6 lb burger at Denny's, a 100 pound female freshman student from the College of New Jersey. I think she didn't eat for a day prior to the competition. She ended up eating it in a shade under 3 hours, which is the required time to qualify for the free burger.

I've been to the Clinton Station Diner. My fried tried the 3 pound burger challenge. You have to eat it in 2 hours. He usually could eat a cow but couldn't do it. You have to eat the whole thing, bun, toppings, the usual rule in these sort of challenges. The bun was extremely dense, and I bet weighed 3 pounds on it's own. It definately wasn't a typical hamburger bun. They also claim to have the world's smallest burgers. They come out served on toothpicks. Got them for the hell of it and they were mighty tasty little suckers. Their burgers in general are pretty good.

There are a couple places that are around.

Tony Lukes Big Daddy Luke Burger.
3 lb burger in 45 minutes. a little dry as you can guess and mostly burger. No nonsense 3 lbs of meat / light roll.

Denny's Ber Barrel pictured in the above posts seems easy enough to eat when they say two pounds. None of us could finish the two pounds of meat and the three to five pounds extra of roll / toppings. Finished the burger and toppings - but the sourdough roll was just too much. This is not just a burger challenge, this is more of a roll challenge...

                                          Cheeburger / Cheeseburger -Chain

1 lb burger and really an enjoyable lunch. good fries there also.

The Travel Channel did a Las Vegas thing a while back and there is a place there that has a really big burger- enough for 8-10 people to eat and it was reasonably priced as I recall. Sorry that I can't remember the name of the restaurant- think it was in the Freemont St area. Anyone out there remember seeing it?
