Not from Owensboro but eat there whenever I'm in the area. No problem with the pics. Just ask that they be credited when used.

Dearfolk, I'll take your word for it... but thinking about venturing to Owensboro, Kentucky for a hamburger makes me think of hunting a pizzaria in Lexington, North Carolina or maybe even a coffee milk in Elko, Nevada... or a decent Basque hotel in Morristown, Tennessee. Muttonring To Myself, Sheepish Ort. Carlton in The Lamb Lies Down On Broad Street (and hopefully doesn't get run over) Athens, Georgia.

Man does not live by mutton alone. Even in Owensboro. Good, classic drive-in fare and, from what I gather, an Owensboro tradition of some standing. All that said, in the hope of soothing sensibilities, please find comfort in that I was just warming up for the Owensboro International Barbecue Festival the next day and had dinner, next door, at the Moonlight that evening.

That's for sure! There's always a line a mile long to get up to the window at the Dipper :D

It is funny that I have been visiting the Moonlite BBQ for many years...and notice the line at the 'Big Dipper' often as we go into the Moonlite's Parking area, but always considered that to be a soft-serve place, nothing more! Your report surprises me! Living in the shadow of that large BBQ place makes the 'Dipper's Success all the more unique!
