Does anyone remember Grill it Yourself?
Has any one been to or remember a steakhouse that had charcoal pits in the middle of the dining room that you cooked your own steak on? There was one just outside st. louis on the illinois side whose name escapes me, but you ordered at a butcher's deli case your cut of meat and then either had a chef cook it or you could do it yourself. There was a marinade bar, and a condiment bar as well. I think there was a slad bar as well and when you were done cooking your meat, a chef gave you a baker and corn on the cob on your plate. Everyone sat on long picnic styloe benches and it had the floavor of a huge backyard cookout. It was a great concept, but closed down after a few years...any still left out there?
