We closed down an all you can eat place

I was just talking to an old friend and he reminded me of the day we closed down Leo Girard's All The Chicken You Can Eat---$1.50.
This was in 1950 and we had just finished defeating the Huntington Semi-Pro Football Team---6-0.
We stopped at the afore mentioned Leo Girard's for dinner on the way back to Patchogue. 25 big, strong, hungry football players who hadn't eaten since breakfast.
After an hour or so Leo ran out of chicken, his wife (the cook) ran out of the kitchen and went home. The lights went out and we left. An eventful night for us and Leo.
Leo's later became the Town House which is now a Lowes---
