Jersey has some great regional food but BBQ is not on the list. I have lived here for 3 years, have tried many BBQ stands, and have always been disappointed. The people have never had real BBQ so they don't get it. I am afraid a real BBQ place wouldn't do well as the locals wouldn't "get it." Buy a Cookshack or WSM smoker and do it yourself. The same problem would occur if someone opened a real deli in the South. The locals wouldn't get it!

It's friendly payback for the displaced NJers in the South saying they can't find any good pizza, bagels or heros/subs.
