Dearfolk, The ads won't bother me a bit: I'll just ignore them. Like I ignore an ambulance unless it is coming after me. G'nee. Regards personal ads, that isn't a bad idea. Why, as soon as I lose another 25 pounds or so, I'll go for a single-type ad: when I reduce by that much, nobody will ever be able to say I'm double. Seriously, if it helps offset the expenses, go for it. If it becomes so obnoxious that it shuts my Netscrape(R) down, then I'll mention it to y'all - if I can get into the site by that time.... Hypelessly Hopping, Wanting-A-Pale-Ale-About-Now Ort. Carlton in Looking-Better-By-The-Nonce Athens, Georgia.

They aren't offensive at all. I wouldn't even mind regular ads on the screen, unless they cover what I'm trying to read. This website costs real money, and we all enjoy the benefits of it being here. So, if the ads help pay for the experience, it's a good thing. I, too, would be willing to pay to be a "member", but that would exclude many, if not most, of the "infrequent posters" to this site. I wouldn't want that to happen, because I learn much from everyone.

Gave a little consideration to how my Roadfood personal ad might read: "Plump, free-range mountain mama hen, iso well-rounded Rooster, Foghorn Leghorn types are fine. Brood hen types with an unnatural attachment to the eggs they hatched from, are not desired, but a good sense of herding the family is a bonus. Must have an adequately feathered nest to aid in the incubation of the proliferation of resultant eggs from conjugal visits to the henhouse. Roosters with the habit of crowing at dawn, can waddle the other way or risk getting their necks wrung. Cocks of the walk, need not reply." Sometimes.......I have way too much time on my hands

Now that it's been here a while, I find nothing at all wrong with it. It's a non-problem. Use it if it helps!

I finally found an ad! No problem that I see with them. When you have to hunt it's no big deal

Just found the ads---not too bad. I thought they would all be food related though. I know they are unavoidable--just,please,no pop ups!

5 weeks later: Advertising? There's advertising? Unnoticeable.
