roadtrip-college towns in Illinois-where to eat?

We'll be driving a circle route from Libertyville to Macomb to Edwardsville to Charleston then back to Libertyville as we accompany our son to visit Illinois universities Western, Southern and Eastern. For anyone who knows any part of that route: can you suggest any good roadfood places to eat?

The Dutch Kitchen on Main Street in Arcola, the broom corn capital of the world, serves wonderfull Amish style meals. I always try to stop when I'm going by on I-57.
