Boone's Farm Strawberry hill

If you google Richard's Wild Irish Rose, you get a lot of hits for gag wine sites. Richard's is now a brand of Constellation Brands and their Centerra Wine subsiduary, formerly Canandaigua Wine Company:

But the Centerra site claims to be under construction with no details about their "fortified" wines. For details on Richard's, you need to go to the "bum wine" sites indexed by google.

Ahh, Boone's Farm. Brings back a memory of my hitchhiking days....I was stuck in Leggett, CA up in the redwoods. I had about $7.00 on me and was hungry as hell. Stopped in a little country store and bought a bottle of Strawberry Hill, a can of Campbell's beans, and a loaf of day old Wonder Bread. Made my way across the street and threw my sleeping bag down under one of those mighty trees and had one of the most memorable meals of my life. Slept like the dead, and headed for Astoria, OR the next morning.....

Well, if real wine prices keep going through the roof, I may revert to my college days.

One of the funniest SNL skits is Will Ferrell as Shaun Mondavi, the bastard son of Robert Mondavi, trying to market his own "wine", which was tequila, Five Alive, and cocoa marshmallows. It has been removed from You Tube, unfortunately.

I recall that Boone's Farm was best when kept in a glass 'decanter' that was warmed by drawing smoke through the wine. THe smoke was consumed, the wine wasn't.
