Yes and no. I am in something of a quandry here. Usually, the reason my stomach is sour is that I have had the club soda first, but laced it with scotch. My grandfather used Maalox, but was indifferent about cleaning his glasses, so it wasn't until I got to college that i realized that scotch need not have a chalky taste.

Club soda's my drink. When I'm out and not having a beer, for a carbonated beverage I'm drinking club soda. Or if I'm ordering a scotch, I often order the scotch warm and staight-up ("neat"), with a tall club soda w/ ice on the side. Fine beverage with a cigar too. Also cleans stainless steel and makes fine pancakes ... As for the alka seltzer; hey, that's my other drink ... though usually at about 4 in the morning. I actually like the taste of the stuff.

Usually I do 7up. That's the only time I drink it is if I'm feeling pukey. Is there a difference between club soda & seltzer?

I like it best with scotch, at the end of the day, with a twist of lemon

You can also use club soda to mix with syrup over ice, thus creating an Italian soda. Not maple syrup, but those one might find at a liquor store. They come in dozens of flavors (think Grenadine), but Raspberry is my favorite. Upset stomach? For me it's Sprite and saltines.

I love club soda, or any sparkling mineral water, over ice with plenty of fresh lime.
