In Michael Stern's write up on this Philadelphia
Deli there is a picture of a sandwich that is just
too big to believe. As Michael stated, a human mouth
can not open wide enough to bite into it.

One of the local attractions here in Florida,
an alligator, could get his choppers into it but no
person I ever knew.

The food there looks great--- or, like the guy from
the Carnegie Deli used to say---they make " a great
sam-wich" !!!!!! Eat it in good health !!!!!!!!!

Having grown up in Philadelphia, and enjoyed the sandwich on a number of occasions,I am contemplating a trip to try it again. The issue of a $14 sandwich, in today's economy, is, of course, concerning, unless one views it as a meal.
    And, fortunatly, it is.
Mr Stern conveyed that concept perfectly.

Had half a corned beef special there today. Actually about a third. The other half and some of the meat from the first half is in the refrigerator along with a slice of their cheese cake. Not shown are the chocolate ├ęclairs which some described as the size of clown feet.

David Auspitz, mentioned in the review, sold Famous 4th a few years back. He still bakes the cookies, but the ones at Famous 4th seem smaller than before and smaller than what's available at David's stand in Reading Terminal Market.

Thanks, Holly. As I contemplate the fate of my Merrill lynch holdings, it makes that sandwich seem like a wise investment, It seems that your purchase returned an additional meal on investment, and how many of us investors can say the same?
