What Goes On Your Burger?
I'm making good on my promise to make a Ketchup and Mustard Belt Thread.
It never dawned on me that mustard and ketchup weren't standard fare on burgers all over this country of ours. What's liked and disliked on hamburgers in your neck of the woods?
This is a spinoff from the White Castle thread's revelation that ketchup and/or mustard are not standard fare on burgers in some parts of the world, at burger joints and at home.
I grew up with regular old mustard, ketchup, and sometimes pickles, onions, and cheese. We had a few places in KC that served German-style mustard at the counter,(Frank Wachter's Grill) but that was the height of sophistication.
Mayo and the Secret Sauces were for the special issue burgers from the chains. stuff like the Big Mac, Whopper, etc. Tomatoes were an adult thing, along with lettuce. All this other junk on top or inside?.... well, no thank you sir! What do you put on YOUR burger?
