Middlesex County NJ Mini Tour (pics)

Early this morning I was visiting with my mom and out of nowhere she said lets get a hot dog. I just bought a great digital camera on ebay for $29.00, so I put the 2 together and decided on a mini tour. With my website taking up a lot of time I wanted to pick 3 that I haven't been to for a while. Our first stop was Bear's Hot Dogs. He's on Bordentown Road in Sayreville near Jernee Mill Road in Middlesex County NJ.

Bear's has a very tastee chili and the hot dog always hot and fresh.




Second stop was Dayton Food Hut. 51 Dayton Road Jamesburg NJ. His chili brings me back to the sixties and your hot dog restaurants in New Brunswick. I've been told his family had the recipe from the old Central Restaurant. Great chili and quality hot dog.





Third stop was Shelly's Dawg House. 74 West Pond Road Woodbridge NJ
Shelly's chili is very tastee with a little kick. Good quality hot dog, hot & fresh.

(Personal note: my mom is 87 years old and only takes a bite or two with each dog. In case her Dr. is reading this)

Mom wanted a hamburger. I must say that the hamburgers are great. Next time I stop back, I'll have to decide between the hot dog or the hamburger. Shelly uses fresh meat and cooks them as you wait.



Next tour may be Ocean County

CC, Thanks for the cheering section, That is what we need. (especially me at this pt. in time. ).
On a lighter note, I had a very good week. And i think (i may be wrong) that my landlord had all these flags at the front of the property and although i feel you can't have enough American flags, it was blocking my visibility. So for that i am glad they are not there. I am in the process of having a hot dog sign made (for those of you who have seen the bite me dawg) it will be something like that. It will be mounted on top of my towing vehicle. Now if that doesn't make me visible!!

Nice report John! I'm a chili guy too,if a place has a good hot dog and a good chili (fresh made,spicy,and very meaty...no beans!!)I'll be back.Very nice setup Shelly!! I love those enclosed Custom Carts trailers! It's nice to see someone doing well in Woodbridge,I grew up there,and my family still lives there.I wish I got back there more often I miss the area! The next time I am in town I will stop by.

John if you do come into Ocean county, you must try Boardwalk Hotdogs on Drum Point road for a great Schikhaus dog!!!

Boardwalk has the 2 for 1 discount Monday & Tuesday between 3pm and 5pm.
