Happy Jacks

I'm planning a trip to sw Florida the first week of November. I noticed a bbq joint in Lakeland called Happy Jacks. I was wondering if anyone has dined there and have a review? I know Dr. BBQ says it's one of his top 5. Just wondered if anyone has ate there recently and do they have seating? I saw a post on here from 2005 and Dr.Bbq says it's a drive up joint. I did a little research and found this review which answers my question on seating.... quote:Happy Jack's is a roadside "hut" with two picnic tables on asphalt and a grill by the side of the highway. A waitress will come to your car or you can stop in the small building and order. Pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw, baked beans are all tried and recommended. Three sauces available--the hot is "just right" both bitey and sweet. Going for the brisket next time! They cater. Closed Sundays. So I will try it and hopefully it is as good as it looks on their website.

Well have been there long time ago its good. Do not know your plans but Peebles in Auburndale is better. Open now, which to say they are open 9 mo./yr. and only Thur,Fri.,Sat. They do it right. Use to be only take-out but seating is around the pits now. Can get warm. Brothers from WV and spend the summer there. Always crowded.

Thanks Curbside.. it sounds like a good find. I did some research on reviews for it and they were pretty much all the same...excellent.
