I just tried a new treat to me, a Cheerwine Float. Wow, It was that good. Anyone else have a Cook Out fave item. The Watermelon shake in the summer was always my weakness, Got a new calorie loaded addiction!

DANG (The Brand Name!) a soft-drink company in Milwaukee makes a "Butterscotch Flavored Root Beer" that our RF friend AnnPeeples introduced us to last year. It makes Spectacular Ice-Cream Floats for a Summer evening dessert!

Wabbit, are you talking about the "Cook-Out" chain in central North Carolina? I've only had one experience with them, last Sept. down in Mount Airy, and I'm sorry to say it wasn't very good. I didn't care for the flavor of the barbeque, and they had the "nerve" to serve white slaw in a part of the state were every place serves BBQ slaw. There are four places in Mount Airy that serve Lexington-style barbeque, and, unfortunately, they're all pretty mediocre ( especially Aunt Bea's - really bad! )

Same chain, they have great shakes. I would never order BBQ there, not when within 40 mins drive time of Lexington. They have 30+ shake flavors and a decent burger. I do agree white slaw with BBQ around here is a sin!

Mr. Mayor, you are correct! They are a small chain in N.C. They have only drive thru, and grilled burgers... you can smell them for blocks! The Shakes are great, they have at least 30 and change with the seasons. My new fave is the Cheerwine float.. don't know if that is a shake .. but it is pretty darn good! They have BBQ on the menu, but i have never tried it..
