New York City Blackout Cake

I picked it up at Zabar's in Manhattan yesterday, its a wonderful cake, not heavy at all, soft, smooth, delightful devils food cake and dark chocolate pudding layers, covered in crumbs of devils food cake.  Made famous by a bakery in Brooklyn called Ebingers, now gone, back in the 50's when a New York City Blackout was just that...a black out, no electricity, usually during the worst of times, the summer months....
