Las Vegas Hot dogs - Trip Suggestions

Hello all ,
 
I will be visiting Vegas next week   a nd would like to know a few good Hot Dog establishments .
I may be unable to partake due to my new found body ( lap band ) but my buddies will be impressed .

Benzee, from past posts here I will stick to my guns. The best hot dog I ever had in Vegas was a Vienna Beef Chicago Style Dog, from the hot dog cart at the sports book, only served during the day... at the Gold Coast. I only hope they are still serving them. Bring your wallet though... they are 99c each! And, don't forget to ask for the celery salt. :~)

It's just a short walk from the Rio.

Hey Benzee,
I was at the Planet Hollywood Casino in March '08 and they were supposed to be opening a Pink's hot dogs in the casino.  Website says coming in 2009, so who knows.  Enjoy!!

slots of fun has a huge dog for $.99
new york new york dad a greys papyaa(sp?) or nathans. can't remember. 

Kenny... it's a Nathan's. I had a better Nathan's from a vendor at the tram exit. I heard he was... not there anymore, so sad.

I have had a few dozen "slots" dogs. If your broke and hungry... it's a great deal. I only hope I am not that broke again. But... if you have never had one, do it! Chase it w/ a... not so bad... 99c margarita , or two, at the Slots. After a few of those you will, hmm... not sure what you will do? Be real careful in Vegas! :~)

VERY active forums, including a "best of Las Vegas" dining, and other restaurant forums. You may even want to post a fresh thread, asking about those hot dogs and steaks..
 
That VIENNA beef brand seems to be popular out west, including Las Vegas..
 
Ellis Island Casino is a dumpy, smokey, locals place, but many love their cheap steak specials , including the "off the menu" filet cut sirloin....
been there a few times, did'nt love it,  JMO...
but I'd still go back and try it again..

Consession... how do you find that trailer?

CSD, those 99c Chicago dogs are a loss leader. I bet it cost the Gold Coast way way more than that to make, and sell, them. Kinda neat though cause it's a hot dog cart... inside a casino.

most of the food courts in the bigger casinos have at least 1 hot dog place, and in good weather there are carts out on the streets. nathans, vienna beef and sabretts are the typical brands available around las vegas.

Hello everyone ,

Back from Vegas and put in a little trip report in that section . the best dog I had by far was the recomendation of Papa Joe , the Gold Coast Sports Book Hot Dog Cart Dog .
Able to eat it because I had been loosened up week prior to the trip because of tightness in band and baby!!!!! it was fantastic .

Thanks all for the suggestions and I highly recomend the Gold Coast Dog , worth a trip from the strip too .
Take the Harrahs shuttle to Rio and walk across the street to Gold Coast .
Good gambling  also compared to the strip as its a locals casino

Yea I think it was $1.25 and with tax came to 1.29 . Still a big deal for me man . It was a great dog , thanks for leading me in the right direction .

Bill's Gambling Hall has a good value 99 cent dog at a cart inside their small casino.  Plump and spicey , and a bit small. No sauerkraut was offered unless I missed it. Only toppings were diced red onions , mustard and relish. The hall is next to the Flamingo.

I had one of those Buddy. The dogs were not that great but the bar near the cart has great 99c ritas!
