I will be there!  I'm having a tooth pulled and 2 implants the week before but I bet I'll be able to eat a sandwich and maybe a piece of pie!  Not much stops me!

I hope the both of you can make it. I would look forward to meeting you. I'll officially post a new thread sometime later in the week. I'm hoping more Southern Californians can participate including some old friends (Red Patti and Ed Sails) who haven't posted in a while that I met on my last visit to LA back in 2006.

It looks like you were reading our minds. Elise T suggested either Dim Sum in Chinatown or Olvera Street after Phillipe's. I replied that I'd love to go with those taquito's- I couldn't think of the name of the place that had them know I know! I'll set up a separate thread for the meet n greet within the next couple of days.

I'm so excited to meet fellow Roadfooders from this shared community!  I love my family and friends, but none of them has this particular genetic quirk.  I'm so tired of those puzzled stares when:

- I continue to read menus long after everyone at the table has already ordered
- I look longingly at food being delivered to other peoples' tables AFTER we've eaten our meal
- I stop and read posted menus outside every restaurant I walk past

catosaurus, you sound like me. I hate it when the server takes your menu away the moment you order; I like to sit there and S-L-O-W-L-Y peruse the menu while waiting for my food to arrive. Best mealtime entertainment there is. And if there's a menu mounted on the outside of a restaurant, I'll be frozen in that spot for at least five minutes.

Exactly!  I hate when they take away the menu!  I thought it was only me.
