After viewing those fourteen monstrosities, I don't think I'll ever be able to eat pizza again ( you believe that, don't you? )

I think that there is a new food category that should be called "stuntfood". I keep running into links on the internet to blog collections of photos of absurd and/or nauseating dishes that seem to have been prepared by twenty-somethings or teenagers to impress each other with how disgusting or ridiculous they can be.

This "stuntfood"/thisiswhyyourefat.com junk is approching "icanhascheesebuger"-level annoying. Add to it the fact that it's a waste of food most of the time, and it's disturbing.

Hey I'm new here. Just wanted to drop my hello. Some of the food on Thisiswhyyourefat.com is something I would probably try. Now most of the stuff just makes you not want to eat anything.

Only the Chicago stuffed looks worth eating. Plus it's the only real pizza in the lineup -- all the others are clearly made up just to be outrageous, gross, whatever ... they look like the nightmare you'd have if you ate them right before bedtime ...

Agreed. I have had Chicago style pies that looked like the stuffed crust there. One slice is enough for a day. :)

Hey, Inthewater, I was in your neck of the woods recently on business and ate at Chuck's -- some great thin-crust pizza there. Next day, my friends at AE Dairy took me to the Latin King ...

While I prefer thin crust pizza, I took my cousins to Pizzaria Due in Chicago for the stuffed crust. They are from California and have never experienced this.We loved it!! As for the rest, absolutely yuck!!

Just to clarify -- it's stuffed pizza. "Stuffed crust" is what Pizza Hut sells with extra cheese crammed inside the outer lip of crust.

Yeah, it is stuffed piza. Sorry, my bad. :) Chuck's is a great old place to get pizza. It has "character", if you know what I mean. A lot of people are surprised to find some really good Italian eateries in Iowa, and especially Des Moines. They think of us as the "meat and potatoes" folks, or the 'breaded pork tenderloin" folks. Des Moines had, and still does have, a very large Italian population that have been here for quite some time. You can find some really good stuff, here. How did you like Latin King? It is a nice little joint. I might suggest Tumea and Son's down on the south side, if you feel like taking a longer trip next time. Also good stuff, but not quite as nice of a place. Anyway, glad you dig the grub here. I think we get a bad rap, but there is some good stuff here. Just gotta look for it. You like authentic Asian food? We have some great little places. :)

The Latin King was very good. I've been there twice now, both during my business visits to AE Dairy (the CEO went to grade school with the owner). I probably would have enjoyed my lunches even more had I not been already filled up from participating in AE's weekly product tasting ;) P.S. I also had a Smitty's king tenderloin on this trip ...
