By concoction we meant something other than that.

I have to agree with Bruce & Sue that they were looking for something made with ice cream. I think a poll on what type of cone you like for an ice cream cone is a good idea though. Dennis in Cary

When it comes to Ice Cream, the only decision I need to make is----Pint, Quart or Gallon! I like 'em all!

A good chocolate malt is getting harder to find...shakes(and not what fast food places sell) yes, but a quality malt...not so much. Since I taught my kids about malts, and the old idea of a "malt shop", they like to order them....but they are surprised how many places don't have them!!!

Malt has fallen out of favor over the decades. Wasn't malt considered a health food? I've never done any research on the subject but I always assumed that malts (or malteds, as we called them) were just adults' way of adding some nutrition to the milkshakes that teens used to drink. Now that teens have replaced malts and shakes with beer (which comes with its own malt) and Jello shots I guess malt has gone the way of sock hops and rumble seats.

and now, it is no longer "today's" poll. Personally, I've never cared for malts, and prefer shakes. But, for "concoctions," a sundae is always welcomed.

I use the presence of malt as yardstick of excellence whenever I have a burger and onion rings.... The combination of a chocolate malt and a home made hamburger with freshly breaded onion rings is heaven. ...and the reason we're here. mark
