philly cheesesteaks in nyc

carl's steaks has opened on 34th and third avenue and i can now say the nyc finally has a place where people can get a real philly cheesesteak...during the last month i've eaten at least 20...i apologize if this topic has already been covered.

That's ok...you can post this on the best cheesesteak thread. You're the third or fourth person that has been high on Carl's. I have to try it sometime.

I also like Carl's. The style is modeled on Jim's, more or less, so if you don't like Jim's this one might not be for you. I happen to like the steak chopped. Bubbaboy, you've eaten 20 in a month? Thank goodness for the NYC smoking ban, because I wouldn't want anyone to light a match around you!

yeah things have not been so fresh in that area lately...it's just one of those things...i've been without them for so long i'm kind of psycho over them.

Have you tried the Philly Cheese Steak at Fetch? 3rd Ave and 94th - it's very good, but the surroundings a little too nice! I'll have to try Carl's they use CheeseWhiz right? Otherwise it doesn't count as real
