The garlic bread WAS killer - Ellen, what do you think - it tasted like they sliced it, and then dunked the entire thing into a garlic butter/oil mixture and baked.....

Yes, it had a nice baked taste....  I just loved the texture..
 
I've had the pleasure of having New Haven pizza last summer, and I do have to admit that it is more uniquely regional than Joe's Pizza is....
Joe's is more like just a real good fresh juicy pizza....
but the killer garlic bread, and plenty of other good apps. make it worth a stop!
Many love the mussells there, etc..
If I lived in the area, I'd certainly be back even more often  to try their other dishes as well, like their chicken parm., ..

Looks like WJ got caught up on some of the other threads,  a good debate regarding Katz's Deli, etc..


 

Our 4th and FINAL STOP of our NORTHAMPTON "meat up" was at HERRELL'S ICE CREAM
We went to the one right in downtown Northampton.

The CAKES and PIES at HERELL'S were so tempting!
I just love cookie dough pie, and I don't see it often enough...
 
We had to wait in line for our ice cream
 
No waiting in line for GREGG, though.... he was too stuffed for ice  cream, and opted to just relax...
however, he did try a taste of mine..
 
Plenty of flavors to choose from.... lots of unique ones, too !
 
I decided on 3 different flavors !   CHOCOLATE PUDDING, BURNT SUGAR, and vanilla CHOC CHIP...
none of the flavors really wowed me , unfortunately...
the choc chip was lacking the vanilla flavor that I crave...
HOWEVER, I LOVED the HOT FUDGE at Herrell's..... I got a side of hot fudge for $1.00, and it was decadent !!
Perfectly bittersweet and sticky, and good and HOT !!

Ellen, sorry I couldn't make it to Joe's and Herrell's to cap off the day!  That pizza looked pretty sweet!  I was really hoping you'd like the Chocolate pudding ice cream.  They DO have some most excellent hot fudge!  Oh, the guy on the left of the first picture in this thread isn't Tim, it's my friend Mike, from Connecticut.  Very happy to meet-up with you again and chow down on some great food.

Funny you should mention that. I think everyone reached the consensus that it tasted like "liquid cotton" there really was no other way to describe it. Fortunately it was the only negative thing I could say about the food at Joe's Pizza.
