Charlotte, NC near the Airport

I've searched the boards but really haven't seen anything out by the airport where we have stopd for the evening. Can someone please lead me to some good casual food near here. We're looking for some place good and it could be anything from Q to sushi. We're pretty flexible. Thanks in advance.

BBQ King is very near the airport, and is in fact on the Charlotte bus route between the airport and downtown It is as casual as casual gets No seating - bring a car or get a carryout http://www.roadfood.com/Restaurant/Reviews/139/bar-b-q-king

I had a lunchtime, two-hour layover at Charlotte Douglas Airport yesterday and which was, thankfully, preceeded by my reading of the current issue of US Air Magazine's article, 15 Best Airport Bites. And while confident that said article featured only "bites" at airports most used by US Air and or where the airline has some form of reciprocal business, I gave their Charlotte airport recommendation a try and was very glad I did. Said magazine touts Siler City's Brookwood Farms BBQ as "the kind of barbecue that evokes images of a seasoned pit master carefully tending ribs slow-cooking over smoldering charcoal — even amid the bustle of an airport food court." I had the smoked turkey and it was very, very good. Great smoke flavor, tender and juicy. And while I'm confident that someone will follow-up this post informing me that Brookwood is some division of Sysco (or something equally nefarious), I couldn't recommend more that culinary oasis found, in of all places, in the airport's food court. FYI.

A little late to the game, but I concur.

joerogo A little late to the game, but I concur. Alright, that's embarrassing. I should've done a site search first. Meala culpa (sic)!

I enjoyed Brookwood Farms BBQ en route to and from New Orleans, myself.
