Any secrets out there other than Fresh squeezed juice , sugar, water, and maybe some fresh mint? My twist is to add some raseberries that have been liquified!

Lemons (the green ones...) are hard to find/buy here in Germany, Zitronen (the yellow ones...) are cheap, everywhere. Grandma used to make "Limonade" from the yellow "Zitrone", great stuff, even without carbon dioxide. Aaah, the good old times... Michael

Now that you mention it Chewin' I have a list of over 50 things better and I am only starting into the "C"s ------ Where are the lemonade stands on the lawns of America---the entrepraneurial spirit of our youth has gone with the arrival of the I-pod and cellphones. I understand Bill Gates and Warren Buffit started as lemonade vendors, and worked their way up.

A secret I was taught from an old Carnie who'd been doing food vendoring at small town mid-western fairs his whole life and was at my small towns fair every year, was to "squeeze the living hell"(his words) out of the lemon, then shake/stir/soak the "lemon carcass" in the lemonade with everything else. The essential oils from the skin incorporate into the lemonade boosting it's flavor. Or thats what he told me through the slurred speech. He was generally well lubricated. I myself have always followed his advise and it does make for a flavorful lemonade and limeade.

Love the stuff. Add just a tiny bit of Jack Daniels and I love it even more. In some Indian restaurants they serve it with a bit of salt and pepper. It's quite refreshing.

Lemonade made fresh is best, made with "simple syrup" instead of just sugar.

My drink of choice, year 'round! A few pureed strawberries added make a delicious strawberry lemonade. YES! to the simple syrup! And YES! to steeping the juiced lemon halves in with the lemonade! If you have ever had/made a Shaker Lemon Pie, you will understand that adding the peel and pulp just bumps up the lemony goodness.

I add a little Welch's grape juice (about 1/4) and it's absolutely wonderful. Refreshingly refreshing. I've been told I should bottle it.

another month or so the lemons on our tree will be ripe & ready for my wife to make fresh lemonade. good idea about the simple syrup. our orange tree will be ripe in about 2 1/2 months, then we'll have orange juice too.
