That sounds delicious!!!!!!!! Mr. Hoffman. I do make a cognac infused peach jam for which I have earned a nice rep. for amongst family and friends. They are precious jars as i do not make too many. I wonder if that would do as a topping over good vanilla ice cream. Hmm. Thanks for the idea.

Have you ever tried a good balsamic vinegar over ice cream? I like it on vanilla ice cream.

I have never tried it, but saw a recipe for it with some strawberries, but the balsmaic vinegar had to be reduced. Do you have reduce it too in your recipe, or straight out of the bottle?

Straight out of the bottle. It's an excellent Balsamic and quite thick.

Yes, those are the more expensive ones. I have never tried it. Perhaps I will splurge for a bottle! I would assume it would have to be on good vanilla ice cream..the one withe vanilla seeds bits in them? I had marinated berries in a balsamic reduction over custard at an Italian restaurant. It was good..i enjoyed the sweet tang of it. Hmmm..now i am craving this too!

There's an ice cream stand/farm near Amherst MA that makes & sells Asparagus Ice Cream during the spring asparagus season. I only needed one bite to ensure me it just wasn't right.

As I have admitted in other threads on Roadfood, I am a Hot Pepper Freak of the very worst sort. But, I have had two gelatos here in DullAss that I believe anyone would enjoy. OF COURSE I did! They are: Dark Chocolate & Ancho Chile Gelato and Sweet Cream & Hatch Chile Gelato. Creamy frozen goodness with a pepper kick/finish! YUMmmmm. CiaoMeOwww!
