Making cookies in a waffle iron

I just saw this post on making cookies in a waffle iron...it says it only takes 90 seconds to cook...pretty ingenious. http://lifehacker.com/539...-with-your-waffle-iron Has anyone done this before? How'd they come out? Does someone want to give it a try and post some photos? (I would but I don't have a good kitchen or waffle iron right now)

Seems to endanger the chewy middle part of the cookie.

I do brownies all the time. They take about 1 1/2 minutes also and come out great. Put vanilla ice cream in-between two and Hershey's syrup over the top....Russ

They look pretty. Hmm, though I am curious as to what they taste like, and how they the cookie dough would stand up in a waffle iron. Perhaps, the recipes are modified?

I really want to try these now. I may have to go buy a log of dough just to try this out.... In college we used to buy the supermarket baked chocolate chip cookies and make ice cream sandwiches out of them. I think these would make a fantastic substitute!

It would look rather nice with sandwiched with ice cream, foodosaurus! Nice idea.

My mom would make toast on the waffle iron. She would butter the bread on both sides & it would be crispy & buttery, sooo good. I think I'll make it that way for my grandkids.

divefl Seems to endanger the chewy middle part of the cookie. actually, it doesn't. the inside can be as chewy or crispy as you like, it's all in the timing.

I would love to see pictures of someone applying this technique. If anyone feels like cooking up a batch...
