2 Great Breakfast Joints (NM and MN) Thu, 11/19/09 9:42 PM (permalink)
Who doesn't love going out for breakfast??
These 2 places are my favories.
The Sante Fe Baking Co in Sante Fe, New Mexico is fantastic.  I always order the chilequiles with fresh squeezed OJ and Organic Coffee.  Scrambled Eggs, mixed with tortillas, onions, peppers and cheese with the terrific green and red chile sauce make for a very good breakfast.  With homemade fried potatoes on the side, it's tough to beat.  The restaurant is always jumping, servers coming around hollering out your name to bring you your order.  Funky art decor on the walls, well lit, and clean make for a very pleasant breakfast athmosphere.  I'll drive out of my way to eat here, and I live in Minnesota.
The New London Cafe in Duluth, Minnesota is another great spot.  I always order the Lester River apple struedel french toast with homemade sausage and coffee.  It's terrific.  Fresh homemade streudel bread fried to perfection with real maple syrup and 2 slightly spicy homemade sausages.  It's a great blend of sweet and spicy.  The restaurant is a local favorite, with a busy breakfast crowd.  It's a clean, lively place, cozy with a good athmosphere.  Nice local art on the walls, and a paper to read.  What more do you need?
