FishStang, welcome back! That looks good. I've never had one but always wanted to try it. How was it? Did your guests enjoy it? How much did it cost including shipping from them? How many did it feed? (sorry for all the questions)

Thanks guys. Everyone loved it. It cost $114 with frozen shipping and it fed 14 people. The only problem was the legs dried out a bit. A little giblet gravy fixed that.... My MIL looked at the pics this AM and wants me to make one for xmas this year. Good times.

That looks SO good! I've never had one either and can only imagine the myriad of flavors involved.. I wonder if anyone's ever tried deep frying one of those bad boys?

It looks great and sounds like it would be very good. I do have a question. If you make the turducken from scratch using the Paul Prudhomme recipe you have the several carcasses and so on to make a gravy or gravies. Is there any equivalent if you smoke the bird? Or to put it differently since your bird was prepped by the store did you buy gravy or did you make a sauce from any pan juices?

I bought the gravy. It was one less thing to deal with.

Fishstang, did you purchase the gravy from cajun grocer or elsewhere? Also what flavor was the stuffing. I usually do a duck on Christmas Eve but this turducken is really intriguing me!

I got the giblet gravy from cajun grocer and the stuffing was the cornbread stuffing. I also got extra stuffing and it's a good thing, becasue my famly ate all of it! For once we had really no left overs. If you order one from them, make sure you order their andouille sausage. Its really good! Im making jambalaya today and it is already looking yummy.

WOW WOW WOW!!! I have yet to try this, I always see the PBS special with Paul and his assistants making this. They roast it in the oven, I would probably do the same. Feed 14 people, it does look gigantic, I think Cajun grocer has a small turducken roll too to feed less.
