Hi My Aunt requested that I bring a crab dip or appetizer for Christmas Day. What are some of your tried and true recipes?

Blue Heaven, sorry this late. I make a shrimp mold usually at this time of year. Here is a similar recipe using crab meat. In the shrimp mold I use a can of tomato soup & a pound of chopped shrimp(sprinkled with Tony Chachere's) instead of the crab and cream of mushroom. I also add 1/3 cup chopped green pepper. It's always a big hit but I would like to try this version too. Let us know what you went with. 1/3 cup onion, minced 1/3 cup fine chopped celery 1 can cream of mushroom soup 2 envelopes gelatin 12 – 16 ounces crabmeat [size=3 font="times new roman"]Preparation Warm soup. Add gelatin to soup. Stir until gelatin is dissolved. Combine with the other ingredients and mold until firm in a 4 c. mold. Serve with bread or crackers.

I have a hot crab/shrimp dip that we really like - I serve it with toasted baguette slices rubbed with a little garlic / olive oil. 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened 1 small can artichoke hearts, coarsley chopped (optional) 1/4 pound shrimp, cut in bite-size pieces 1/4 pound crab meat, drained 1 small onion, finely diced 1/4 cup heavy cream 1/8 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning salt Ground white pepper, to taste Mix all ingredients together and pour into a casserole dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees until bubbly, about 20-30 minutes.
