Recipes for Boneless Turkey "Roasts" Sat, 01/30/10 11:41 PM (permalink)
I have one of those Frozen, Chemically Enhanced, 3# Butterball Turkey "Roasts" that I bought by mistake, (I thought it was a boneless breast).  It contains both white and dark meat jammed into one of those Mesh Bags.
Unless someone comes up with A GOOD RECIPE, I'm weighing the following options:
1. Drill holes in it and use it as a bowling ball
2. Donate it to the Winter Olympics to be used in Curling events
3. Wait until the Summer Olympics and donate it for the Hammer Throw
4. Use it for a Boat Anchor, but I think it might float
5. Use it as a prize at a Turkey Shoot-----OR
6. Donate it to a Soup Kitchen

Any Suggestions???

Grind it up with some bacon fat and make some burgers.

I'm with Marlene on this one, I would grind it with salt pork ( your nice butcher might do it! ) then add dried cranberries and fresh sage and garlic and either grill as burgers or do a meatloaf situation....  Good luck, let us know what you do!

I was with you until the Dried Cranberry part. It just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the stuff as far as ground turkey for burgers & meatloaf are concerned.
I've had cooked cranberries in a Sandwich with Leftover Turkey & Stuffing after Thanksgiving and that was OK.
Have you ever had meatloaf or burgers made this way??? Or, is this something you want me to try and report back so you can LYAO!! Either way, I'll be happy to supply some Yucks, Being the good sport I am!

You big silly! I wouldn't use you as a guinea pig!  Really they are kind of sweet, and they plump up a bit in burgers and quite a bit in a baked loaf. so you get little sweet nuggets here and there. Delish!    Ocean Spray sells them as CRAISINS but you pay a bit more for the cute name......

We have a no-time-to-cook recipe for which we use one of those roasts. I can't look up the details right now, but the gist is to put the roast in a slow-cooker, top it with stuffing, pour a jar of gravy and some sherry over the stuffing, and slow-cook for several hours.

It's pretty good, but I admit that I always feel it's missing a certain something, and I'm not quite sure what.

Marinate in an Oven Ready Pan W/ Orange juice and cumin, garlic, a sliced Jalapeno.
Add a squirt of honey, a dash of Oregano along with a bunch of sliced green onions
and throw it in the oven till done.
Make turkey tacos or Quesadillas with Avocado, Cilantro, diced red onion,  and green salsa.

I cook those and make sandwiches out of the meat.
