Kettleman City, CA best lunch and pedal-car collection

I-5 travelers hungry for a sandwich and a big helping of nostalgia should stop at Mike's Roadhouse Cafe in Kettleman City, CA.  Great care is paid to fresh ingredients, all of high quality.  I enjoyed that rarity--a tender and succulent chicken breast--in a chicken, green chili, cheese combo sandwich plate.  Even the dill pickle on the side tasted homemade, and the fries and coleslaw showed somebody cared about cooking.  A special treat is the owner's wall-mounted display of his vast collection of kids' pedal cars, tractors, planes, and old advertising signs.
