Vegetable Plates I Have Known and Loved

Browsing through some photo files, I came across this Deep-South plate of luxurious vegetables, which, other than the copiously porky flavor of the butter beans (in the background) is a meatless delight. On the left are coastal South Carolina's creamy
grits -- slow cooked all day with plenty of butter.
