Nutella at Breakfast

I never see anyone bring up Nutella as a breakfast item. It's a little rich that early, but the cocoa in there has got to be acting like caffiene, right? I like it on my Francisco Round Sourdough toast, or an English Muffin. The hazelnuts have to be a reasonably healthy ingredient, if fattening.

Peanut butter toast topped with Nutella for breakfast. Banana/Nutella crepes. Nutella straight out of the jar.

For me, Nutella on hot buttered toast is more of an elevenses thing than breakfast. There's something about it that fits the mid morning snack chasm more than first-thing food. Nutella & banana toasties are good too. I also used to have a thing about Nutella on Ritz crackers

I like it on crusty fresh made french bread. I had it many times for breakfast when I lived in Belgium. There was a patisserie on nearly every block in downtown Mons Belgium.

W/O my glasses I thought this thread was about a dish some folks in Louisiana enjoy... Nutria for breakfast. It's an overlooked food source I think. Joe

Delta Airlines has little packets of Nutella available in its Crown Room Clubs (airport lounges).

Nutella on brioche toast is my wife's favorite breakfast food to eat at home. After a night of drinking, I like a grilled Nutella sandwich (think a grilled cheese with Nutella instead of cheese).

To PJ8: Some years ago, Paul Prudhomme (sp?) did try cooking nutria, with limited success. He said, "It accepts seasoning well.", a polite way of saying something else. Evidently everything about nutria is abominable, which is why the state of Louisiana will PAY you to shoot them.

In Italy, Nutella packets are served at breakfast. Even though I'm no chocoholic, I thought it was great idea. Ingleside Restaurant in Belmont, CA, slathers it over a waffle.
