David, I agree with your point, but am a bit concerned that Subway may have the Bucks and the 'Legalese' to make a long and expensive fight out of the use of the term. Many of the smaller 'Dog Business's won't be able to outlast the Big Corp.
To me Subway is a latecomer...places like Nathan's etc have been around ages before the Subway came to be. There must be a clause for 'grandfathering' previous users of the word.
