I don't think this will be a big seller in Iowa or Indiana, where they know better. Oh, and somebody better get the smelling salts ready for Davydd!

BK and McD's have flirted with short term "experiments" and test markets for BPT's before. I will try the "ribs" they are maketing right now sometime soon. This pic is from at least a year ago: Don't even ask about the sandwich.

I can't read the fine print in the bottom left. Does it warn you to, "keep this sandwich out of the hands of children" ? Looks like the difference between the deluxe and regular is the bun size.

DawnT Looks like the difference between the deluxe and regular is the bun size. Looks like the difference between deluxe and regular is that deluxe has more stuff on it that doesn't belong on a BPT to begin with.

The ultimate in BK deliciousness would have to be a pork fritter, a chicken patty, and a burger all on the same bun. With cheese, of course, and top mine with plenty of mayo!! Brad

That photo was from http://www.burgerbusiness.com/ (I was looking at six possible new Checkers burgers that a friend is going to test-sample tomorrow). Here's the text from the piece: In Chicago and a few other Midwest markets, Fire-Grilled Ribs will be sharing the Burger King menu with another limited-time pork item, the Country Pork Sandwich. That’s a mid-price item at $3.49 (or $3.99 with mayo, lettuce and tomato). It and the Fire-Grilled Ribs were developed in association with the National Pork Board. They DO look like some sort of shingle!

I understand this thing is limited to just a couple of midwestern states. Let's hope so - I'm surprised Davyyd hasn't responded yet - he probably has fainted from the absurdity of this.

MFL is on to something here--Burger King's "Country Pork Double Down"! Why do they call it a "country" pork sandwich? Would it get confused with "city" pork? Or "overcrowded feedlot" pork? Perhaps the word "country" is supposed to suggest "wholesome" and even "healthful," like you're biting into a prairie?

quijote Why do they call it a "country" pork sandwich? Would it get confused with "city" pork? Or "overcrowded feedlot" pork? Because if they called it a "Tenderloin sandwich' they would be LYING!!!---and you can bet it is NOT!!!
