I was just looking through the Wisconsin Roadfood list, and saw the Kringle from Bendtsen's Bakery.  Yum!

It got me to remembering these pastries that used to be sold through the QFC stores in Western Washington
years ago.  I couldn't remember the name of the bakery or the name of the particular pastry I would
have almost killed to get my hands on lol, but after some Googling I found it, and they're still in business!

I only had the Kringle a few times, but it is FABULOUS!!

And there are no words for how amazing this stuff is!  It's called Smorkaka, and I've never seen it anywhere else.
Not even at the Danish Bakery near here in Leavenworth, WA.


I debated putting this thread in Breakfast, but I'd just as likely eat a piece of their pastry for lunch or dinner.
With a cup of tea. ;-)

btw, it says a pan will serve 7 people, but it really serves one person over two days.  lol!
