variations for shrimp cocktail sauces

What are some of your favorite dipping sauces for chilled shrimp cocktail? I get bored with the same old ketchup and horseradish sauce. Sometime I llike to use mustard sauce that you use for stone crab claws.

remoulade is wonderful, for that recipe and more, check out www.nomenu.com for other sauces/dressings. Just look under the shrimp category in the "alphabetical recipe index."

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Ketchup, good quality Horesradish, Fresh lemon juice, Crystal hot sauce, Worchestershire and a dash of Tony Chachere's

My Dad likes boiled shrimp every so often and I usually make up a regular coctail sauce with a Chili sauce/horseraddish base. I tried shaking things up a bit making up a clone Horsey sauce and another substituting lemon juice for the vinegar. He liked both. There might be something there to try if you're adventurous. Next time I plan to add a little ground celery seed in a small amount set aside in a ramekin to meld and see what it tastes like. Meant to add that I've made up a Joe's Stone Crab mustard based clone and it didn't go over too well. Your milage may vary

If the shrimp are cooked in a well seasoned boil I don't like to dip them in anything. If they're a little on the bland side I still like the regular cocktail sauce. Sometimes some clarified butter with a hint of lemon juice is good.
