wedding purchase

We were married this past weekend in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The only purchase we made for our return trip home was fried apple pies from The Apple Barn. We had finished our supply that we got there before Christmas. They are always delicious and keep well in the refrig.

The first thought that crossed my mind was of Paul- The Sundancer- smiling as he walked off into the Tennessee Sunrise (not stirred or shaken) chuckling to himself about his recommendations to all for the Apple Barn and it's wares.

Congratulations on your big news, familydok. And Happy National Pie Day, too. As many times as I've been to The Apple Barn, I didn't know they sold fried pies. Wonder if Martha ever said, "Fried pies are a good thing."?

Thanks much, everyone. It is great to know you can fall in love in your late 50's and be married at 60! Never give up and keep eating-that's my motto along with "if something isn't life threating or financial ruin it won't matter in a few days-so don't worry. By the way, you can see the ladies making the pies in the window next to the restaurant.

Familydok: I am so glad that you stopped at my friends complex and got the fried pies. They are wonderful: JimInKy: They are sold down at the far end of the complex. Most of the time you can get them hot out of the fryer and they are a little bit like a Krispy Kreme, when the are hot, they are outstanding. Familydok, Congrats on your marriage and starting it off with a Apple Barn Fried Apple Pie will insure sucess. Paul E. Smith Koxville, TN
