Trip to Kalamazoo Michigan for my 10 year H.S. Reunion (Food Photos inside) Tue, 10/12/10 11:54 PM (permalink)
I came home to Kalamazoo, Michigan for my 10 year High School Class Reunion from Kalamazoo Central H.S.  All I did all weekend was eat. lol  Check out the photos.  I will post the names of the places along with a link to their websites.  Enjoy!

Request by Rhadagast (also called Recommended by Doan) Pizza from Bilbo's Pizza
(Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Extra Cheese) And this is a picture of the mini pan pizza, which is smaller than their small pizza.  http://bilbospizza.com

99 cent Soft Tacos from Taco Bob's http://tacobobs.com

The Italian Grinder (Sliced Ham, hard salami, spicy Italian sausage, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Mozzarella Cheese, and Mayo) from Samuel Mancino's http://samuelmancinos.com

Two Coney Island Style Hot Dogs from Coney Island Hot Dogs of Kalamazoo

Last but definately not least, I had to get a Six Egg Omelette from Colonial Kitchen (I ordered the sausage omelette) http://colonialkitchen.net/

I'll take a pizza and an omelette, but not necessarily in that order.  And definitely not at the same time!

Is any particular style of bread prevalent for subs in the Kalamazoo area?  It looks like Roma's might use a crustier bread than Mancino's.

There's no particular style of bread prevalent for subs in the Kalamazoo area.  I know both of them claim to bake their own bread, but not sure why Roma's looks a little different than Mancino's.  You are right though, I can tell from looking at the photo.  Maybe different bake times/temps/or dough ingredients.

          Yes the reunion was great.

Me and my friends on the first day of the reunion.  Here we are at McGinnis Landing Restaurant after our High School's Homecoming Game. (I'm in the Maroon sweatshirt)

Tasty, fun reunion at home....  what more could you hope for?

Did you eat the entire 6 egg omelet?

            And the pancakes?

I did eat the entire 6 egg omelet, but only got through the first layer and half of the second layer of pancakes.

The legend continues (a six egg omelet to anybody who gets that reference).  :)

Yes, Derek Jeter graduated from Kalamazoo Central, my high school
He graduated I think a year before I entered KCHS.  I knew his little sister Sharlee though.

Yea there isn't a lot of restaurants around the U.S. that can pull off the six egg omelet.  I'm just lucky to know of one of them that does.
