San Francisco: Show Dogs

Right up front I'm gonna admit this place is a little pretentious (with prices to match) and most of the sausages on the menu will strike you as unusual (to say the least).  Also, it's on the worst/scariest stretch of Mid-Market St (intentionally--the owner also owns some other nearby real estate and is trying to upgrade the 'hood).  
 
But after much delay, I went there to try it and had a "Pickled Hot Link with blue cheese sauce" and fell in love.  I mean this has little in common with a regular old hot dog but it is just killer.  Trust me.
