new holiday dessert idea

I love "playing with my food" and love to just throw things into my crockpot and see what happens. Today I cleaned by fridge out of fruit (chopped apples, pears, cranberries), added some raisins, poured on some rum, a generous sprinkle of cinnamon and some lemon zest and a dab of honey. Well it was delish! I poured it warm on some plain Greek yoghurt, but imagined it would also be great on vanilla ice cream, pound cake, etc. The warm/cold was great. I was in Marches area of central Italy a few years ago visiting relatives and was enthralled by the morning food: warm bread with apple/rum compote. This is my seasonal take off on that. Maybe it also need a few nuts?
