Not as in the whole bird. Think you could do a smaller turkey like fried chicken? I have thought about this but still leary about doing it.

The best turkey I ever had was deep fried in peanut oil for about 35-40 minutes. Crispy on the outside and very tender and moist on the inside. Even the white meat of the breast was unusally moist which in my experience does not usually happen when you roast them. The turkey stayed moist until it was totallly consumed. That never happens when I roast a turkey in the over. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I think the coating would burn before the bird was thoroughly cooked.

I'm thinking the OP was asking whether you can cut up turkey into individual parts and pan-fry them like chicken.

rumaki I'm thinking the OP was asking whether you can cut up turkey into individual parts and pan-fry them like chicken. I agree wit you, but trying to fry a turkey leg in a regular frying pan would be dicey, need something deeper that could hols 3-4 inches of oil, a pot would do, a tall one.

I would think Pan Frying turkey parts would be difficult since the pieces are larger than Chicken parts. The outside would be overcooked and the inside would be undercooked. It might work if you par-roasted the turkey parts in an oven then finished them in a skillet.
