chefbuba I might try again this weekend... The pastry defiantly needed to be a bit thicker. Dude, make a pie crust. With oil, not lard. use ice water, too. Deeeeeeelicious.

I have lived in the U.P. for the past 22 years, and was never a huge fan of pasties, finding them mostly dry and tasteless. That is, until a lifelong yooper woman my mom worked with gave me her recipe!! They blow the socks off any other recipe I have tried, including the pasties my mom used to make!Anyone replies wanting the recipe, I will post it! Lindsey in da U.P.

Yes please! I love your area, I used to pass through on my way to Copper/Eagle Harbors. So pretty.

Here is a great place to order pasty's. They are made in the UP of Michigan. I've ordered them for myself, as well as gifts. They are the original. They don't ship in the summer, because they are too busy keeping up with the local demand. But come fall, they start back. Everytime I've ordered, they are packed so well and still fully frozen when I get them. pasty.com

I would like to see it... I have nailed the filling, my pastry could stand some work.
