I remember a Dairy Queen in New mexico that was actually a roadfood restaurant and a DQ in Creswell, Or. that served excellent chicken. i guess they used to be more independent.

    We still have the one in my hometown. It easily has the best fastfood burgers around. Good burgers actually, regardless if their fast food or not. Both DQ's in the neighboring town closed though and reopened as gambling joints.

        My town of 20,000 supports two of them, along with FOUR Starbucks!

         
         
        My town is about the same size.
         
        Two DQs, and 3 Starbucks.  5 if you count the Starbucks in the Safeway stores.
         
        As far as I can tell, our DQs are doing very well.
         
        eta: I'm including East Wenatchee here,  across the river.  I still can't
        bring myself to think of them as 2 separate towns in 2 separate  counties.

            DQ's are still big in Texas.  But then, so is everything down here.

              LOL  The Dairy Queens in my Texas hometown have all closed up.  Too many other fast food joints and small hometown cafes.
