Hi All, Thinking of taking a day trip to Old Forge Pa for Pizza. Any suggestions to where and what is a must try? Will be going for lunch time not dinner. Thanks as always for the best suggestions.

catwoman, I believe the only places you are going to find open are Salerno's and Arcaro & Genell. The chef/owner at salerno's pasted away a couple years ago and the food went downhill. It was a very big loss for this small family owned place, but it seems they are getting back on track. I was there last week and there was a big improvement. At Arcaro & Genell, the double stuffed white pizza is a must. Here is a link to a trip report from wanderingjew. If you can change your hours, Ghigiarelli's is the place to go for red pizza.

Mrs and I have had varying results with A&G pizza; 2/3 of the time it's been excellent, 1/3 of the time it has tasted stale and left over. Odds are, for lunch you'll probably be OK. T ake a look at the menu and the house specialties. The first two, penne profumante and fettucini capricciosi, are just insanely awesome down home American Italian.

The one time I was there everything was freshly made and prepared and it was off hours too (between lunch and dinner)

Hi Guys, I went to Arcaro & Genell and had a cheese pie. The pie was ok, maybe I am jaded being from NY and very picky about my pizza. Would I go back, don't think so. Service was good. Place is old fashion, has a 60 early 70 vibe to it. NY City and Westchester Co. still has the best Pizza as far as I am concerned.
