These are going on my menu and no I'm not doing them from scratch. The product is from Anchor, and they are scary good. Can be an appetizer or a side. I've never tried them before my rep brought a sample and I deep fried them, munched, and fell in love..you ever tried them?

I've had tempura-style green beans, which were good.

Are they heavily battered? Just a sprinkling? Spiced? I've also had tempura green beans and they're great. Yes... I'd eat them.

Schnucks (grocery chain out of St. Louis) sells them frozen under their own label.

Sounds good to me, CTF !! Do they go better with Martinis or Manhattans? Have to get some green veggies every day, don't you know.

I'll have just the batter, please. Green things are unhealthy.

They have them at the local hangout we go to. They're awesome, and too hot for a Mexi-ranch, IMHO. We like em with plain ranch. They're GOOOD

Glad you found these little gems, ctf. I have enjoyed them many times, and order them when I see them on the menu. Mexi/ranch sounds like a great sauce to go with them!!

Fracaro's Bowling Alley. It's easy to find from the freeway, take the old 164 (American of Madison, Steinhafels, Aurora) south into Waukesha & at Moreland, turn left. Go over the railroad tracks & Fracaro's is the blue building on your right. We are having my birthday party there on Saturday June 18 after the Ghost Tour in Milwaukee, and you're all invited!

Wait, aren't you in Stallis now, Pam?? Take Greenfield West to the new 164 (Aldi's is at this corner). turn right. go to Hwy 18 (past Culvers) & turn left onto 18. Take 18 into Waukesha. When 18 veers off, it also connects with White Rock. 18 veers to the right, White Rock is to the left. IF YOU WENT STRAIGHT, YOU WOULD HIT FRACAROS, so just get in the left turn lane.

Sorry, just saw your reply today. I've been neglecting this forum. Yup, I'm on the very west side of Stallis, so sounds like Fracaro's is not far. Thanks for the detailed directions. Waukesha confuses me and my GPS alike
