Best of Phoenix - Budget Mexican Restaurant

Every year the local newspaper, "The AZ Republic" comes out with a "Best Of' list. This year the best Budget Mexican Restaurant was Los Reyes de la Torta -9230 N. 7th St. Phoenix. They don't have a web site but they do have great Tortas. Their food is based on foods sold in "The Federal District' of Mexico City as opposed to the Sonoran style foods commonly sold in the Valley. Their signature sandwich is the "Torta del Rey". It features breaded beef, pork, hot dog, ham, cheese, chorizo, fried egg, avocado and beans piled into crusty Mexican Bread.
