The Roscoe Diner

Today's picture (5/8/2011) is excellent. Reminds me of the many visits to the ROSCOE DINER when I was on the road. After leaving Long Island on the way to Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo and stops in between I always aimed for the ROSCOE for lunch. Excellent breakfast also. Biggest problem was finding a seat during Trout fishing season and Deer Hunting season. Sitting next to those guys on the way north was ok, but it was pretty smelly after they tramped around in the woods or eddys all day. On my bright red Ford Explorer was a sticker---MEET YOU AT THE ROSCOE DINER. But, I never met anyone I knew or who wanted to know me. Alas and Alack.

I've stopped there quite a few times for the hot turkey covered sandwich with real mashed potatos and bread stuffing. i don't ever remember bad service but as long as the food's good and they refill my drink, i'm happy.

The Diner is the biggest attraction in the town and even a guy from TEXAS comes a zillion miles for the turkey. Ben-Zee your right the joint is jumpin' when the fish are bitin'--but the wait is short and the service fine. Right on Rt 17 and a great Roadfood Stop.
