And to think, there recently ws a fist-fight aboard one of the trains when a woman decided to eat some pasta from her take-out carton. If the woman who objected had been around for this meal, as Keith Jackson might say, Whoa Nellie! Here's the fight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCeEeITbPjM

That's terrific! I love some of the plating. Not sure that I'd partake but it looks like they all enjoyed it.

Next thing you know they will be putting dining cars on trains and bar cars, too. I will have to live my life over to see where it all leads, and how it all turns out. What do you say Sir Michael of Hoffman want to do it all over again ? Joe, I'm surprised your on here I though you were jogging toward Chewy's Joint already. Don't forget your sun block. Chewy, you could pull a stunt like that if they had a subway under your FOOD EMPORIUM.

Well, I always enjoyed club cars and dining cars, and having to write your order down in the dining cars. In fact, my first exposure to corned beef hash was on a train from New Orleans to Penn Station -- The Southerner -- when I was in sixth grade.

Sat in a dining car coming home from Notre Dame (Thats in South Bend, Indiana Papa Joe) and the guy sitting opposite me ( a stranger) had just a cup of coffee---and he put about 10 or 12 spoons of sugar into it. His spoon was standing straight up when he let go. He stirred it up and I guess got his morning fix. That was a long. long time ago but it is my clearest recollection of a dining car. Loved Murder on the Orient Express and North by Northwest and other movies with dining cars. Joe-----you will look sweet waltzing along with a parasol

My wife and I took a train from Denver to Glenwood Springs Colorado, beautiful trip, the train left Denver very early, so we had breakfast in the Dining car, my sausage and scrambeled eggs arrived, sans sausage, I told the Waiter, a huge African American about it, he said, and I quote, "you ordered sausages?" he looked around and the table in front of us there was a guy ready to dig into his sausage, the waiter took his plate, scraped the sausages onto my plate and said, "You wanted sausages, you got sausages", true story.

Chewy that is fabulous-------what did the other guy do? You don't have waiters like that in your place do you? I have always wanted to travel by train through the Canadian Rockies and down into the good old USA. Have seen it on film but that's not the real thing. I saw the USA in my Chevrolet---no actually a 5 day trip from Sampson Naval Training base in northwest NY to San Diego. No dining car, no showers, none of the luxuries I was lead to believe came with my enlistment. Stopped at every cow crossing and out-house ---- went into Mexico at the El Paso borderline and came back into America at San Diego. Then-----took a much nicer trip home from San Francisco through Salt Lake City, etc and so forth. I prefer flying------
