Traveling from Chicago to LaPeer Michigan along Route 69

Hi all,
I will be traveling to LaPeer, MI from Chicago along route 69 this weekend, any good restaurants along the way? Some hidden gem, a great burger, etc.? No chain restaurants please.

If you are taking 94 to 69 stop in New Buffalo. Redamak's is a great burger joint that has been around for decades. Also in New Buffalo is Pierre Anne Creperie. They have incredible crepes, both sweet and savory. They also have great soups and salads. Close to Lapeer in the city of Davison is Lucky's Steakhouse. They have great steaks and seafood and their house bread is wonderful. If you are in the mood for Italian try Italia Gardens. A great family run restaurant that has been around since the 1930's. They have a location in Flint and in Davison.

Might I recommend Hershey's Steak and Seafood in East Lansing ? Hershey's Steak & Seafood Independently owned for well over 20 years, and fits your requirement of looking for a good restaurant. Great steaks. And fabulous salad bar. Been there numerous times over the years, and never been disappointed. Well worth the short jog off of I-69.

We stopped at Redamak's, it was packed, but we had the dog so got take-out anyway. We loved it and loved New Buffalo, its a cute little town. We also had lunch at Lucky's, the food was good and the waitstaff was very nice. Thanks!!!
